Well, I’m about to start running the last “book” in the trilogy I’ve been running for Exalted for about two years or so now. After that, I’m thinking I’d like to run some Nightbane (AKA Nightspawn).
I’ve been reading through the core book for Nightbane, and while it’s been a few years since I’ve run the game, I think it’ll be something I can easily drop back into. I’ve written up the clarifications I like to use for the rules, which do tend to be a bit clunky and occasionally contradictory, and I think I’m set.
I believe I’m going to set the game in London, England. I figure it’s got enough spooky places and legends to really do the setting justice, as well as having that edgy/angsty feel that I want to convey in the game.
Info on the game can be found here: http://www.palladiumbooks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=N730
My premise for the game will likely be having a Night Priest working in one of the major religious sects within the city. Maybe St. Paul’s Cathedral. Not sure though. Basically, he’ll be trying to subvert the English government into disolving it’s current government, and re-instating the Monarchy as an actual ruling family again. Thus enabling one of the stronger Nightlords to place an Avatar on the throne. Year for the campaign would probably be the current year at the time the game starts.
To those of you who’ve been to London, what was the spookiest thing you came across while you were there? What impressive sites do you think would be important to give a good impression of the city?
Ok. So I’m sitting here at work bored, and I kinda gotta pee. Will probably do so once done posting. Aren’t ya glad I shared?
Things are going OK.
Wedding is just over 5 1/2 weeks away. Almost everything is ready. I’ve got a surcoat being delivered to me within the next week or two. Otherwise, a shirt is the only thing I’m needing.
Have to pick up the marriage license some time next month.
Was relieved to find out that my son’s mom is not going to be a total drama-queen biatch about letting me have him for the wedding weekend. Would have been a shame if I’d had to report her to the Attorney General’s office for Contempt of Court.
Gaming is ok. Not great, but ok. Feeling kinda lost with the two plot-lines I’m a player in. For the Heroes Unlimited game, I missed a few sessions at the beginning, and I don’t think I’ve ever quite gotten the information I needed to make things make sense for the ongoing story-line. Star Wars is loads of fun, but I’m feeling a scotche disconnected from the plotline. Something’s missing, and I’m not sure what. Maybe the review I asked the GM for will help.
I’d started a Saturday afternoon DnD game, but it fizzled due to wedding planning, new kids, general scheduling issues, and I’m sure an evil badger was casting curses at it as well. Shame, because I had a cool game set up.
Ok. I’m gonna go pee now. I’m sure you all wanted to know. You’re welcome.
Ok. So the weekend was ok.
Had a meeting with my boss on Friday that totally mind-F’d me. Apparently people have been complaining to her about my negativity? Mine? Heck, she obviously has no clue about the state her department is in. Eh well. Moving on.
Anyhow, Friday night we just kinda hung out at home. Rented the first few disks of LOST: Season Two. Got totally hooked.
Saturday, we went around to various costume shops in Austin. Most of ’em didn’t have any Ren-Faire stuff available. Eh well. We had fun looking at odd stuff. Watched more Lost.
Sunday, yet more Lost. Then C went to her brothers with her best friend so that they could get my future nieces measured for wedding apparel. I stayed home and cooked dinner, and played Battle Realms.
Today, I rode the bus to work for the first time. Not too bad. Just kinda boring.
