Last night was sad.
Apparently, a friend of mine I enjoy gaming with has decided not to game with the group any more because of not wanting to be around other(s) in the group. Understandable I suppose, one of them is the guy she’s going through a divorce with right now. Can’t really blame her when it comes down to it. But honestly, I’m going to miss her being at the game, and would prefer to game with her, given the choice. She does game with my occasional Saturday group, at least I think she still does. So hopefully, that’ll work out. But still… Was sad not to see her show up. She’s family, and I’ll miss her at the games a lot. (And if she doesn’t keep in touch via email, etc… I will track her down and give her an atomic wedgie (+1).
The game was ok in the long run, once everyone stopped bitchin’ about nothing, and such. M and Chris were figuring out what sort of vehicle Mike’s character might pick up for practicality’s sake, but J couldn’t keep out of it and kept putting in his ten cents (with J it’s never just 2 cents). D threw a hissy fit for some reason I still don’t grok all that well. C and I just sort of sat quietly while all this went on. Then Chris tried to talk to C about how to resolve the actual size of C’s character. Both of them got grouchy and eventually realized they were somehow on the same page but just using different words to explain the same thing.
We did finally get to gaming, but it was frustrating getting there. I think some of it was everyone simply having a crappy day, but eh well…
Game itself was fun, once we finally got to really gaming. Sold off some info for a cool 9 million credits. Not a bad haul at all. Then… we head off to pick up some equipment, and do some training in a small town a few hours away. Maybe a third of the way there, a group of hovercycles comes in behind us and attacks. In the process costing us TONS of cash that we really didn’t make back. Barely broke even. The bastids killed my hover-bike though, which is truly irritating. My character’s an 11 foot tall wolf-man. Kinda needs to get his bikes custom made at a 20% mark up from the list price. NOT fun.
Anyhow, the game ended shortly after combat. We played some Excite Truck and went home.
Man. I so wish people weren’t so drama prone.
