Ok. So here’s all the news since I posted last…or at least all the important stuff.
I have a new job. I’ll be starting on the 19th with the Dept. of Family Protective Services as an Administrative Asst. II. The pay is a bit less, but there’s better benefits and I can get out of my current work situation which has been stressing me on a level I just can’t explain.
Coleen and I celebrated our 1st anniversary. We went to Fort Lauderdale, flying out of Austin on the 2nd and returning this last Tuesday. It was an awesome time. We got upgraded from an economy car to a convertible PT Cruiser at the car rental place, and from a standard room to a suite at the motel we stayed in. Over all…It simply rocked.
While in FL, Coleen and I got a romantic massage together. A couples package that included full body Swedish massages for both of us, some time in the steam room (didn’t care for that part), a glass of champagne for each of us. It was great over all. Also went to several great restaurants. Favorite was the Oasis just off A1A on the coast. Awesome food. Went on a night cruise on a ship called the Sea Escape. Lost a lot of money gambling that night, and got a little tipsy. Was a good experience over all. Spent that Monday at the beach just relaxing, picking up seashells, and swimming. Was a good time. Over all, we ended up being really relaxed by the time we came back. It was great!
For our anniversary, my brother gave us a groovy present. My nephew was born on that day (11/4), and that simply rocks on a level that’s unreal.
The last couple of days Coleen and I have been home just relaxing after the trip. It’s been great. I need to take real vacations from now on, not just a day here or there.
Today, Jacob did something that made me so proud I could nearly bust. He’s been taking karate (Ba Ki Do) lessons for about six months now, and today was his test for the yellow belt. It’s a bit of a show for the parents, and Coleen and I got to watch. Wow. He was awesome. It was really obvious that he worked really hard on getting everything right. He’s an awesome young man, and I’m so proud to have had a part in raising him to be who he is.
The only negatives I’ve got going on right now is simply not having spent any time with Will lately, and needing to get my car fixed. I had thought that changing the distributor cap would fix the problem, but apparently not. We’ll see what’s up soon though.
